Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs going to start 20 National Centres of Excellence in Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Sonepat, Mumbai, Gandhinagar, New Delhi, Trivandrum, Patiala, Guwahati, Alleppey, Rohtak, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Imphal, Bengaluru to nurture athletes for 2024 and 2028 Olympics. Each center will be earmarked for 4-6 specific sports.
