- The 17th edition 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships scheduled to be held from 27 Sep- 6 Oct 2019 in Doha, Qatar. Indian has already started their championship campaign in Doha with 27 Membered contingent list are as follows
- Neeraj Chopra, Arokia Rajiv, Tejaswin Shankar & Hema Das will not be the part of the biennial event this year due to certain seasons. Meanwhile, eyes will be on Shivpal Singh who finished eight in Asian Games 2018, Muhammad Anas who clinched a silver medal in mixed 4* 400 relay in Asian Games 2018 & Tejinder Pal Singh Toor who clinched gold in shot put in Asian Games 2018.
- On the first day of the event ie on 27 Sep 2019 Jabir Madari Pillyalil finished 3rd with a timing of 49.62 Sec in men’s 400 meters hurdles and qualified for semi-finals. However another hurdler Dharun Ayyasam finished 6th with a timing of 50.55 Sec and fails to qualify for Semi-Finals
- M Sreeshankar finished 22nd with a lapping of 7.62 in Long Jump and fail to qualify to next round.
