Responsibilities:
- Work hands on with the NTHA Technical Committee in the formulation and implementation of the Naval Tata Hockey Academy Yearly Development Plan (NTHA YDP)
- •Based on the NTHA DP, formulate and implement the Weekly Training Plan (WTP) to achieve the NTHA YDP
- Actively participate in development and implementation of the Academy Coaching Curriculum in line with the Tata Code of conduct.
- Develop a comprehensive plan jointly with the NTHA Technical Committee, to develop a meaningful mechanism for scouting talent. This should include efforts to identify players and coaches through an objective mechanism that combines both the quantitative as well as qualitative aspects of sport.
- Guide and assist every coach with a Personalised Development Plan (PDP) that is tailored to meet their needs and which they buy-in to as a ‘living’ document for their professional development.
- Implement an NTHA Specific Coach Competency Framework (CCF) to monitor and evaluate coaches in order to develop PDP and group coach development opportunities
- Ensure a vivid, up-to-date Personalised Development Plan (PDP) of every individual player to help them progress to the desired level of motivation, fitness and performance.
- Help the NTHA Technical Committee to identify and define any external training needs (eg English, YDM, coaching certifications etc) identified through review through a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Monitor all areas of performance within the programme and implement associated actions and contribute to the overall coach and player development plan.
- Ensure the NTHA is continually achieving the standards required to retain its category status within the FIH & HI guidelines.
- Ensure clear professional communication is in place with all stakeholders including staff, players and parents.
- Set high standards of professionalism and demonstrate a high standard of conduct, thus providing a good role model for young coaches and players.
- Suggest tournaments to participate in and teams that participate in our own tournament
- Contribute to the development of a high performance learning environment where people take responsibility for their own development, feel able to learn from their mistakes and have opportunity to experiment outside of their comfort zone.
- Ensure that the Philosophy, Culture, Values and Vision of NTHA are understood and that they are communicated to all the beneficiary students, coaches and the parents on an on-going basis
- Undertake all administrative duties connected to the role as and when required to ensure all matters are completed in an efficient manner and as required
- To be part of the NTHA Management Team and attend all its meetings.
- Key Member of the Regional Development Centres’ (RDCs) Technical Committee (responsible for selecting players and technical program).
- Attending In-Service training that is provided by the FIH & HI periodically.
Requirements :
- Coaching license or valid coaching certification preferably FIH 1 & 2
- Minimum 8-10 years of Experience of Coaching in an elite multidisciplinary academy environment;
- Experience of designing and implementing coaching development programs;
- Experience of dealing with minors and an excellent understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures including the relevant clearances for individuals.
- An excellent knowledge and understanding of sports child protection and safeguarding legislation
- Fluency in Hindi is compulsory and English speaking/writing ability is required.
- Understands the (modern) game, both technical and tactical (Program Hockey RDC – NTHA).
- Proficient in skills and tactics
- Able to prepare, execute and evaluate Training. • Able to prepare, execute and evaluate Matches.
- Proficient in Video-analysis and presentations.
- Able to prepare score cards.
- Can recognize talent
- Understands the strengths and weaknesses of the team players and able to act on it
