18 year-old girl Reshma Patel daughter of a farmer from Bhopal has broken the U-20 national record on her debut at the National Federation Cup Junior Athletics Championship held in Bhopal at Tatya Tope Stadium from 25-27 Jan 2021. She clinched a Gold Medal in 10km race walk in 48 minutes and 25.90 seconds
She belongs to a small village in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Her father is a farmer and bother (Indrajeet Patel) is a National level long-distance runner who is currently working in ONGC post at Dehradun. At present, she is in 12 Standard and is planning to break the national race walk record in U-18 Age category.
