Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma will pledge Financial support to PM –CARES Fund and the Chief minister relief fund (Maharashtra ) to fight against COVID-19 pandemic. Virat Kohli Tweeted that “Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens # IndiaFightsCorona”
However, Kohli has not mentioned how much they are going to the donate.
Apart from the decision for pledging the support, Kohli has also been constantly urging people to practice social distancing via social media platform during 21 day lockdown period.
Earlier, Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar had donated Rs 50 lakh to the PM’s Relief fund and the CM of Maharashtra’s fund.
World champion shuttler PV Sindhu had donated Rs 5 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia had donated his six months’ salary to the Haryana Corona relief Fund to fight against the COVID -19, Indian sprinter Hima Das had donated her one month’s salary to the Assam government,& Indian Olympian Air Gun Shooter Manu Bhaker on 30 Mar 2020 donated 1 Lakh to the Haryana Corona Cares Fund.
